Women train drivers: equal opportunities in railway professions

It was only over 140 years after the first passenger trains appeared that women had access to the position of train driver and currently in most countries, women represent less than 2-3% in a profession that was long forbidden to them. However, women are starting to be present, they also drive high-speed trains and heavy freight trains, they are encouraged to enter the profession and they are also active in countries where the job is risky.
