Grup Feroviar Roman (GFR) is the most representative entity of GRAMPET GROUP, the biggest private rail holding in South East Europe.
GRAMPET GROUP is formed by 18 companies grouped on activity domains: operators of rail transport involving cargo, logistic, construction, repairs and maintenance of rolling stock and IT services.

Intergroup solid partnerships, oriented towards customer needs, generate connected complex services and offer both technical and financial optimal solutions.
GFR is a company with 100% private Romanian capital, that has become one of the main players on the competitive rail freight market in Romania and national leader in the transport of oil products by rail.

With an experience of over 18 years in the field of transport, GFR started its activity in 2001 as a maneuver operator, in 2002 it started as a railway transport provider, in 2006 it performed the first international transport and starting from 2010 operates through all the state borders of Romania.

GFR is a member of all representative international organizations and has collaboration agreements with both state railway operators (BDZ Cargo, UZ, CFM, PKP Cargo, ZK, RCH, HZ Cargo, ZBIH) and private railway operators from Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and Germany.

At present, over 20% of traffic is international, with GFR offering complex logistic solutions to its customers in the rail sector.
Effective management has made the GFR perform exceptionally well during the economic crisis, with an increase of 85% in 2010, when 9.25 million net tons were transported compared to 5 million net tons in 2007. From 2011, we transport an average of 1 million net tons/month. In 2017, more than 14 million net tons have been transported with an indicator of over 3500 million net kilometers.

GFR also owns a logistics terminal – GFR Terminal Bucharest – with a total area of 110,000 square meters in Chitila.
It ensures the flow of intermodal transport flows through handling and storage of palletised goods and containers.

GFR services encourage sustainability and a return to the rail transport, much more environmentally friendly than other modes of transport.

In 2013, GFR was shortlisted in the “Railway Freight Operator of the Year” section at the European Railway Congress in London, and in 2014 was awarded “Romanian Brand of the Year” by The Economist “Intelligent Life” for performance and regional expansion.
